Term 2 Overview

Welcome Prep Green Families to Term 2! What an exciting term we have ahead of us. I hope you and your children have had a well earned break and are ready to kick start a busy 11 weeks!

Please find below our learning objectives for this term.

Religion

In Religion this term we will be learning that prayer helps believers to follow the teachings of Jesus and to live according to God’s plan. We will be recognising ways in which believers pray alone and with others using words, music, actions, silence, symbols and nature. Students will be able to describe ways in which believers pray together during special celebrations and rituals that mark important times in the lives of believers and in the Church year.

Science In Science, we will be investigating habitats. We will be investigating farm, ocean and rainforest habitats and the needs of living things.

Health In Health this term we will investigate the attributes of a healthy lunchbox.

English In English we will be building the student’s oral language skills, developing phonological awareness, reading and comprehension skills and developing knowledge of letter sound relationships. We will be continuing Popcorn Words and Guided Reading sessions this term.

Mathematics In Mathematics we will be working on the numbers 1-10 and various mathematical concepts (including 3D shapes) to build upon their growing awareness.
