Welcome Prep Green Families to Week 6!
We had such an amazing time last week celebrating Book Week! Thank you to all the parents for putting in so much effort with the children's costumes. They all looked absolutely gorgeous and had an incredible day.
A special reminder that this week on Tuesday is free dress. The money will be going towards the Farmers who are in desperate need of some financial support. The children are welcome to dress up as farmers or farm animals. If your child does not have a costume then they are welcome to come in any free dress. A gold coin donation would be greatly appreciated to go towards this tremendous cause.
Last week on Friday you would have received a Sight Word Book in your child's KIT Folder. Please continue to focus on the Gold Words for your child. If your child already knows them then we are practicing to spell them correctly to help us write sentences independently. Please do not mark off the words in your child's book as I will test them individually on these words. These 100 words will assist in preparing your child for year one. If you and your child are tired of an evening, please do not stress about reading. I would prefer the children got a good night's sleep and are well rested for the following day. We do an extraordinary amount of work throughout the day with a particular focus on reading and writing. If the children skip reading every now and then it is not going to be detrimental towards their learning. If you have any questions about the reading please don't hesitate to contact me.
A reminder from the administration team. If you are ringing the office throughout the school day, you will not be able to be put through to the classroom. Our beautiful office ladies are happy to take a message and pass it on. As I am teaching and supervising the children, I am unable to have parent discussions whilst the children are learning. The admin team have asked for this message to be passed on to all parents. The office always pass on any messages to myself during the lunchbreak. Please continue to use e-mails and the communication book to send any messages to the classroom.
This week:
School value: Respect Letters: Ll, Kk
Book: The Rainbow Serpent
HASS: Mapping
Number: 6, 16
Monday: P.E - please keep our beautiful St.Bernardine's families in your prayers as there will be a funeral held at the school for the passing of a previous student. There will be no music due to the funeral taking place in the middle session.

Wednesday: Library (please return books and bags), assembly
Thursday: P.E and Music

A big thank you to all of the generous families who have sent in Coles Mini Shoppers into the classroom for our shop. The children have loved using them. Please continue to send in any unwanted items to our shop.
I will be posting lots of photos from our Farmer's Day on Twitter!
Have a lovely week!
Miss Ritchie xx
