Term 2, Week 8

Welcome to week 8 Prep Green Families!

On Friday, your child received a letter detailing an end of term excursion to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Could you please sign and return the permission slip as soon as possible? Please check your child's KIT folder if you have not already seen the form. For the excursion, we will be requiring 4 parent volunteers to assist with supervision of our class on the day. Due to an overwhelming number of wonderful parents who have already e-mailed me to volunteer, we will be placing the names in a hat and pulling out 4 names randomly. If you would like to be considered for this day, please e-mail me to let me know that you are interested. Unfortunately we cannot allow siblings to attend with our parent volunteers on this day. The volunteers who will be selected will be required to complete the Brisbane Catholic Education Online Volunteer Training. This involves Student Protection and Code of Conduct training. We are also looking for Parent Volunteers in Prep Green to assist with one on one reading. We ask for any parents wanting to help out on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:15 - 2:45pm. If you would like to volunteer please e-mail me and complete the above training module through Brisbane Catholic Education. We ask that no siblings are brought with you to afternoon reading to assist in giving our children as much one on one support as possible. Thank you to the parents who have already volunteered, we appreciate your support!

Morning Drop Offs

As the mornings are getting cooler and the term is extremely busy, our little ones can become unsettled in the mornings. We ask in order to assist your child in settling that you make the drop off as quickly as possible. There are always staff members on duty in the undercover area in the morning from 8:15am who can assist in comforting your child. If you are on school grounds with your child before 8:15am and before a teacher is on duty, please supervise your child carefully. We have had reports of prep students climbing in drains and running through the school grounds unsupervised. We also strongly encourage your child to carry their own bag to help in developing their independence and to allow them to take responsibility for their belongings. If you are late in the morning (meaning class has already left the line up area), please go straight to the office with your child to sign them in. Thank you in advance for supporting this matter.

School Uniform

A reminder to please name your child's school jumpers and tracksuit pants. Your child must only wear the school tracksuit. Scarves and gloves can only be worn in the school colours and will be removed during class time. Please check your child's jumper to ensure it is clearly labelled.
