Week 11, Term 2

Hello Prep Green Families and welcome to the final week of semester 1! We have officially been at school for 6 months including completing our first 100 days of school! Mrs Whittaker and I could not be prouder of the beautiful boys and girls that we have the pleasure of teaching everyday.

We have an extremely busy week next week which is why the blog post has been completed extra early in case of any questions.

Monday: Prep - Year 2 Athletics Day

I will send home in your child's kit folder the itinerary for the day. You are welcome to shadow your child for the day as they complete the different activities. The boys and girls will be split into gender and age groups on the day. They will have different teachers with them throughout the day but all of the staff are familiar to your child. There will be snow cones available on the day for $4. If you are unsure what house colour your child is in, please let me know and I will look it up for you. The children are welcome to wear their house colours on the day with running shoes. Please make sure your child has hat to wear on the day.

Tuesday: Lone Pine Sanctuary Excursion

Thank you everyone for returning their child's permission slis. We will be departing the school at exactly 9am for a 9:30am arrival. Your child will be placed in a small group on the day with either a staff member or parent volunteer. The children will arrive back at school at 2:30pm. We ask that on the day you pack your child's lunch in either a clearly named paper bag or snap lock bag. We will not be taking any containers to the zoo with us. Please pack your child an easy lunch for the day e.g. sandwich, banana etc. We also ask that your child brings a disposable drink bottle so that we can dispose it at the zoo. We want to prevent the children from losing anything expensive and ensure that we are not carrying around anything too heavy. Your child must have the full school uniform on including hat, black shoes, blue socks. Please do not let your child wear a different coloured shirt under their school uniform. The children are welcome to wear their tracksuit for the day - please make sure it is labelled. I encourage your child to not wear tracksuit pants on the day as it does get very warm walking around all day in the sun. Please make sure your child has put on sunscreen before coming to school. We ask that the children have a big breakfast before coming to school to ensure they have lots of energy.

Wednesday: Wednesday is a normal day and will be our last borrowing session for the term. We will be having a very easy day as we will all be very exhausted from the previous 2 days. Your child's portfolio will be sent home today.

Thursday: Thursday is a normal day with P.E and Music

Friday: Friday is our last day where we will be hosting a party celebrating 100 days of school. We ask that the children bring in a plate of food e.g. packet of chips etc. to celebrate the day. We will be posting lots of photos on twitter to celebrate this big occasion.

It is a very busy and exciting week for Prep Green next week so please make sure your child gets plenty of sleep each night.

Information for term 3 will be posted on the blog over the school holidays.
