Welcome Prep Green Families to Week 2!
This week is extra exciting as we are celebrating two special occasions. This week is Catholic Education week which we are celebrating the theme "Discovering New Horizons." We will be completing special activities to commemorate this important week.
On Wednesday, St. Bernardine's will be celebrating NAIDOC Week. The theme this year is "Because of her we can." Prep will be participating in Aboriginal Dancing, cooking and special cultural activities to commemorate this historical day.
We ask that parents are encouraging their children to become more independent. This includes your child carrying their bag to and from school, packing their own belongings into their school bag and dressing themselves for school. We want the children to be as prepared as possible for year one and installing independence into the children will allow problem solving skills to increase and encourage the children to take responsibility for themselves.
As stated in previous blogs, the children will be walking down to White Post by themselves for the remaining of the year. Please make sure you are informing your child how they are being picked up each day i.e. After School Care, bus, White Post or the under cover area. We have many children getting stressed about how they are getting home. Informing your child will allow us to assist your child in getting to the correct pick up area.
There are a number of bugs going around the cohort at the moment including vomiting and flu like viruses. If your child is showing symptoms or gets the virus, please leave them at home to allow them to recover and to prevent the rest of the class from getting sick. I thank you in advance for supporting this matter and helping our little ones stay healthy.
Thank you to everyone who came to Grandparents Day last week. The children had the most amazing time and could not stop talking about the day. I was so proud of the children and their behaviour during Mass and how they conducted themselves during prayer. Please pass on your thanks to your child's grandparents for assisting in celebrating in this special occasion.
