Week 5, Term 3

Hello Prep Green Families and welcome to week 5! We are already half way through the term and it's continuing to go super fast!

Our short week this week is a very busy and exciting week for our Preppies as they continue to experience many first's at St. Bernardine's.

Coles Mini Shoppers

We have created a mini Prep Green Supermarket in our classroom and would love to collect as many mini shoppers as possible. The children are using this unit to learn how to write shopping lists, use measurement language and recognise numbers. Thank you so much to the families that have already donated so many. The children are absolutely loving it!

Sight Words (Popcorn Words)

I will be sending home this week a list of the first 100 highest frequent words to allow the children to prepare for year one. The words highlighted will be the words your child already knows. Please do not highlight these yourself as the children need to pass a specific test before I can pass them on each word. The unhighlighted words will be the words you will need to focus on for the remainder of the year. Once your child knows the first 100 words, I will hand out the next 100 words.

Library Borrowing

This week we will miss out on our library lesson. Mrs O'Leary will try and squeeze us in on Friday afternoon to do a quick borrow. You are welcome to bring the library book back on Wednesday as usual otherwise Friday morning.
